Install systems to filter salt water into fresh water for Mekong River Delta provinces

Drought and saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta provinces have occurred since late December 2019 and have continued until now. Saline drought not only causes many crops and fruit trees of people to be seriously damaged, but also causes many difficulties for people’s lives, especially the problem of lack of water and living.

Wishing to help the people of the West overcome the drought, Hang Huu Heart Fund together with the leaders of Ben Tre, and the Go Cong Tay district of Tien Giang province find many solutions to bring fresh water to people. Two systems of salt water purification systems with high capacity have been officially put into operation in Ben Tre, helping to overcome difficulties in water shortage for many people.

The filtration system can filter salinity below 10 per thousand, common salinity in Ben Tre province. Each unit can be used for 5 to 10 years will be supported to install in all salty areas.

Not only the water filtration system, a 10 km long water supply system was also installed in Go Cong Tay District, Tien Giang Province, helping thousands of households in three communes have access to water. These solutions are considered as long-term solutions for people in the West to overcome salinity, so everyone is happy.
